Web Blogs have been around for a while, just referred to page updates. Many people have used a form of web blogging when they update pages or even post notes on a site, such as a guided journal for instructions.

Reality TV has hit the scene, so why not blogs. Everyone and anyone can start a blog. The easiest way is to dedicate a folder on your site such as mysite.com/blog
Then routinely add information to the page, and watch it grow.

Now many business owners may not think of blogging as such a professional way to communicate, but I grant you it will be the wave of the future. People want to stay informed and email, may not be the most attractive approach anymore.

I am not saying that email newsletters have bit the dust, this is just another offering to make yourself visible to your interested parties with giving them choices.

Don't be so quick to throw the idea of web blogging aside. Because there are software products that are becoming more and more popular that allow someone to plug into all the web blogs they like and view the news via web browser. It is like having your own little yahoo news guide. With YOU being the choice maker of which blogs suit your interest!

Can you imagine, keeping in touch with current news whether it be personal or business, without having to deal with tons of email everyday.

Now for the Business strategy of web blogging, consider if you have a web site that is listed in the SE, but you are struggling with getting new content added, web blogging is a perfect fit.

Keep a simple format with design, something that is easy to read and scan through with targeted information and your web blogs will be visited by both People and Search Engine's wanting fresh content!

While you may initially create a web blog for your existing customers, you will find out you can attract new customers by illustrating your expertise in a specific field. There are many websites that act as "blog search engines," so make sure you submit your site to these websites to increase exposure.

Keeping updates about your business and products visible within a blog will provide a ongoing information. So much easier then managing a forum.
