When you develop a web site you will need a way for it to be viewable online. A good hosting company will be available for support, either by phone or email. Some hosting companies claim 100% up time or claim your site is available 24/7. What they are referring to is the time your site is viewable.

*It is impossible for any one to claim the your site is going to viewable 100% of the time, a good hosting company will be upgrading their servers doing routine updating occasionally.

They should inform you when they are planning an upgrade or plan to do routine maintance on their servers (usually during early a.m. hours) and of course emergencies will arise when they do not plan to have your site down. What you want to know is are they reliable, and what type of service have they provided for others.
