Are You in
a Marketing Slump?

Developing effective AdCopy for landing
page
Is it better to plan and follow the marketing experts
advice?
I believe it is, I have jumped the gun to many times
and have fallen flat on my face, so now I am listening up and following
directions.
I
have read many times that I need to reach my target audience with emotion
words that are benefit driven. Some markets are very complex and have
several different niches within, I find that brainstorming and doing
keyword searches have proven to be the most successful.
And
when I am in doubt about my angle for marketing a product or idea, I
get advice first hand At
Nicheology. You can too! But hurry because they are about
to close their doors, they are putting a cap on the amount
of members in this site. Simply because they want to work with people
that are serious about online marketing and are devoted to helping us
newcomers...
Now
on to how to developing your landing page!
Follow
these simple steps when you are developing the page that people will be
brought to from your google ads:
1.
Always reflect your original adword copy on your landing
page.
Here is an example of what not to do: If you are advertising
a specific product - do not send your targeted visitors to your home
page, not even directly to your product page, create a special page
"landing page" that explains just what it is they will get
when they purchase this product.
2.
Use vivid words to describe
how your customer will feel after purchasing your product or service.
Let
me state a fact, People are not interested in the features of your product
- Only
that it will solve their problems or give them what they want. Definitely
know your market type, lets face it people searching for business
software are going to react differently then those searching for video
game software!
You have heard it before - get into your customers shoes and know
exactly what pushes their buttons!
3.
After telling your prospect what they will gain by purchasing your product
tell them what they will lose by not purchasing.
Don't miss this step, because this will often be the turning
point for most people to take action.
4.
Announce
an unexpected bonus for purchasing or taking action at the
end of your page. Remember to make your bonus appealing to your target
market, keep it within the theme of your product or service.
Such as for my web design, When I am developing my clients pages
I stress that I will design their pages and instead of charging extra
for the logo design, this is included within the template design. (whether
they are using an existing logo or I am creating one for them)
5.
Always
upsell, have in place a follow up system to keep in
touch with your customer. We all know it is much easier to sell to an
exiting customer then acquiring new ones!
This could be simply an automatic signup for your updates to the product
at the time of sale.
Make sure you follow the rules here, and put your intentions in writing
on your site.
There you
have it, follow these rules and then test your results... Stay tuned
in I'll have more on how to test in the next few days

while I run a Google Ad-word Campaign
Today,
I have outlined a plan of action for getting my Google adword campaign
under way. In Perry Marshalls book it explains all the
details of course and for the small amount you invest in this purchase
its by far the best investment you will make if you plan to do any business
online.
As
you know I only recommend resources I have found to be winners and this
one definitely is! **Go
here to purchase the book Click on the link at the top of
the page! - The Definitive Guide to Google AdWords - Yes this
is an affiliate link. I wish to keep in touch with those who purchase
through me so send me a quick little note here! I'm planning a little
surprise for those that do...
Now
on to the Good Stuff:
First,
I go over my targeted keyword list, It is suggested that I come up with
about 100 keyword phrases. WOW, if you have read the
book you will know about how to market exact phrases - I will give you
a few ways to make your keyword list bigger!
- I make
special not of negative keyword phrases, such as the word security.
- I will
also want to make a special keyword list of misspellings, such as engish
or bulldogge.
- How
about geographical searches, such as kansas english bulldogs, as of
now I am not going to use geographical search terms (but for many
other markets this is very important!)
- Use
similar keywords, and even things like using hypens, such as english-bulldogs!
After I have
developed my list of about 100+ keyword phrases I am on to the next step...
Next
thing is to work up some really good ads!
For my Google Ad-word Campaign
I
am going to get right into this today also...
Second,
I will definitely want to use my keyword in the heading,
such as these:
Buying English Bulldog Tips
English-Bulldog
Buying Guide
Best English Bulldogs
(it is
suggested to keep your Headline Short and always add your main keyword
phrase, as I am using "English Bulldog"
My second
and third line in the ad should always state the benefit and feature
(usually in this order)
Here are a few I have worked up:
Bulldog Puppies
Buy a happy healthy Puppy
10 Questions to Ask before you Buy
English-Bulldog
Puppies
Money Saving Buying Tips
Learn what to ask before you buy
Perry Marshalls
book also suggest that I work with these ads in several different formats
and watch them close to see which are getting the best response - this
will be very time consuming at first but once I know which ones get the
best CTR (click through rate) I will have it made!
This is what
I call leaving no stone un-turned marketing angle!
Next
project will be developing my landing page,
this is the
page that will collect contact information from my target market. More
about this tomorrow...

How to Develop Your Landing Page
June
1, 2004 How to Identify
the right market angle!
The
best advice I could give you now is to get ahold of Perry Marshall's Adword
Ebook, Go
here to check it out,
I
will not go into detail as to what Perry's book does but I will highlight
on a few things and you can follow along.
I
know how important it is to reach the targeted market with the right keywords,
and after reading his book I hope to attain the market with out investing
a huge amount in PPC. (Pay Per Click Traffic)
Today
I will open up an Adword Account and start advertising on some keywords
by the end of the week. I am also working on the copy of a simple web
page that will be my landing page. I first heard about landing pages from
Dr. Nugley and his newsletter, It will be important when advertising to
direct traffic to a fine tuned page.
I
am finding that I really love this marketing stuff, almost as much as
I do the designing... I am always tweaking my designs until I get them
just right, so it should be like an old hat to be able to tweak the adcopy.
Only thing is I cannot rely on my instincts I will have to do the math
and watch for what gives me the most clicks.
This will be how I identifying my marketing angle.
**Important
thing to mention is that I will not want to target all the keywords or
I might be getting traffic that is not prime for my advertisment. (Don't
want to be paying for something that is a waste)
I
will post tomorrow, as I go through the first campaign.
Oh
by the way, Our
Mother Crissy has her puppies, born this morning at 9:30, six beautiful
little English Bulldogs. I'll post some pictures when they are a bit more
presentable.

Outline for successful Google Ad-word campaign
May
25, 2004 How
to successfully beat out the competition!
The first
step of the Niche Research has been an awesome experience, I find myself
researching every idea that comes across my desk. What is really cool
is now I know how to evaluate the good ideas from the bad...
If you are
just tuning into my niche marketing blog, You need to
start out at the beginning and do the research on your idea first or you
will be throwing money in the wind...Start
Here Go through the SIMPLE "Step
by Step Guide" listed
on the right of the page!
Now for
the start of a booming ad campaign,
Don't re-invent the wheel - use what successful people have proven
to work.
Step
One: Identifing My Niche Keyword Phrase.
Remember
our first evaluation of bulldogs review here
Main Niche Keyword = Bulldogs
To find the most popular searched term for my niche I went to WordTracker
Search Tool Here
What I found out was that there were a considerable amount of people
searching for information under these catagories.
english bulldog puppy
bulldog puppy
bulldog picture
english bulldog breeders
english bulldog puppy for sale
bulldog breeders
bulldog puppy for sale
bulldog security
This is
excellent for my niche, because I do not want to develop yet another
dog training product, I want to develop a product that tells all about
how to buy the perfect english bulldog puppy!
By using
affiliate resources, such as Affiliate Alert I was able
to distinguish what type of competition I was up against and also find
perfect Affiliate or Joint Venture Partners... This means an additional
income to MY Product with no extra work or money invested!
Read more about what
I have found by using Affiliate
Alert Software here
Also if you have not
downloaded your
**FREE** Report by Jimmy D. Brown from Nicheology you best do it now..
Ok, by the
end of the day I am ready to go back to Overture and Google and check
out the competition's ads. At this time I am constantly making notes on
my niche profile sheet about possible partners. I can easily add affiliate
links to my product or report that I will eventually create.
**Remember
I have not even created a product as of yet!**
Don't want to put the cart before the horse, I am evaluating
the market and then I will develop the best product, to fill my customers
most wanted need!
More
to come, about brainstorming Headlines for my ads.
And
identifying my marketing angle.
Step
2
Identify YOUR marketing angle
